Team Jumbo-Visma and Notio technologies announce partnership to refine aerodynamics ahead of 2020 Grand Tours
As teams ramp-up for the 2020 UCI season, Notio Technologies – makers of the Notio, the world’s premiere personal aerodynamic sensor – and Team Jumbo-Visma - one of the dominant programs in professional cycling – announce a new partnership that will see Team Jumbo-Visma athletes work with the Notio to refine their aerodynamics in real-world race conditions.
At their current training camp in Tignes, France, Team Jumbo-Visma are currently working with the device, measuring Coefficient of Aerodynamic Drag for Tom Dumoulin, Primož Roglič and others to optimize equipment, set-up and rider position and give riders free speed by lowering their drag.
“The on-site use of Notio enables us to go faster in circumstances where optimized aerodynamics can mean the difference between winning and losing,” said Mathieu Heijboer, Head of Performance, Team Jumbo-Visma.
“We’re excited to be partnering with another UCI WorldTour team to help them find free speed with the same watts while at the same time working with athletes to refine the Notio experience,” added Ed Beechinor-Collins, president, Notio Technologies Inc.
Several track and National Federation Teams have already raced to massive success using Notio. This is Notio’s second official UCI team partnership announced in as many weeks.
Coming out of Tignes, Team Jumbo-Visma plans to enhance both rider condition with hard rides, and aerodynamics, with Notio, in preparation for this season’s major races.
